Artists & Makers Studios Welcomes
A Studios Group Exhibition, “Welcome to The Neighborhood” opening January 10, 2026

(San Gabriel, CA) – Artists & Makers Studios is pleased and proud to present a group exhibition showcasing work from residents at A&M Studios – San Gabriel. Chona Berendo/Studio 36 is a Filipina American multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of Visual Art and the Healing Arts, specifically incorporating Reiki and Yoga principles into her practice. Utilizing a broad palette of mediums—including oil paints, watercolor, ceramics, and charcoal—Chona explores themes of safety, beauty, and introspection. Her primary inspiration is drawn from plants and nature, guiding her to create visual and experiential spaces that feel grounding, restorative, and intimately connected to the organic world. Brenda Chi/Studio 15, is a Queer Asian American artist from the SGV, with a decade career in TV, film, comics, apparel design and editorial illustration. After years of freelancing, she found inspiration in making art about the Asian American experience through images of memory, nostalgia, and storytelling. Juan Luis Garcia/Studio 27 is a creative director and key art specialist who combines photography and design to make strong film visuals. His work includes Academy Award–nominated films, festival premieres, and collaborations with directors like Spike Lee and Michael Moore. Most recently, he designed the poster for Estado de Silencio, a Diego Luna–produced documentary shortlisted for the 2026 Graphis Poster Awards. Rae Anne Robinett/Studio 2 uses art making as a technology for narrative investigations and psychic activation. Working with diverse themes across media, stories are woven together for the written page, reassembled for the quilt and the ornament, or cut into clay; remembering is in the re-making. Robinett is a former art reviewer, gallery director, museum professional, and the founder of LePincheFuntastique, a Los Angeles based multimedia performance art troupe. Amy Tung/Studio 7 is the co-founder of Amren Tulano. Since 2011, Amren Tulano is a fashion house for quality conscious and environmentally aware clients that offers a full collection of clothing, including tops, bottoms, underwear, dresses and outerwear. Amren Tulano blends self-expression with ethical responsibility, offering sustainable fashion handmade in the USA. Kathy Yoshihara/Studio 24, is a local Southern California mixed media artist, with a background in graphic design. She studied painting, sculpture, and graphic arts at the University of California, Los Angeles. She is inspired by her Japanese American roots. Her work explores the influence of her heritage and upbringing on her life. She hopes her art will bring a smile to those who view her work.
