Meera Ghosal was born in India and received her MFA in Studio Arts in 1969. She worked as a professional artist and educator for nine years in Calcutta. She interned with the Smithsonian for one year while teaching art in DC public schools. Meera has participated in numerous art shows in India and the U.S., and her works are held in private collections is several countries. Her choice of colors, forms, and techniques come from her experience with the rich cultural diversity of her home country. Through her paintings she tries to capture the inspired moments, hopes, and dreams of life. Her goal is to touch the beauty around us.
